Responsibility
- open the bakery early each morning
- clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
- ensure that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene standards are met at all times
- accurately weigh and mix ingredients to ensure consistency in final product
- bake a range of different cakes, pastries and cookies
- adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
- decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings, like flowers
- prepare custom-made goods based on customer requests eg birthday cakes
Requirements
- experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
- familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and ovens
- understanding of food safety practices
- experience with cake decoration techniques
- excellent time-management skills
- ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- flexibility to work early morning shifts
