  • qualifications to diploma level or above in a relevant area
  • e.g. social work, probation, nursing, youth offending, education and welfare, substance misuse, housing, community development
  • relevant experience in working successfully to build relationships and challenge behaviour with families with multiple needs
  • experience of community-based lone working
  • excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • able to model solution focused thinking
  • good understanding of agencies and support available for families in Kent
  • able to work with families to overcome barriers to employment

youth worker

Requirements

  • experience of line management, desirable that this is within a youth work setting but not essential
  • experience of working with a range of partner agencies including commissioners
  • significant experience of working with young people in youth work setting
  • A JNC qualification in youth and community work, or a Level 5 or relevant qualification such as social work with extensive experience of youth work
  • experience of delivering services to improve the emotional health and wellbeing of young people in a range of settings
  • experience of planning, delivering and providing evaluation data of youth work programmes, including accrediting young people’s achievements
  • experience of working effectively with other professionals in order to deliver services for young people
  • knowledge of relevant legislation and principles underpinning good practice
