Requirements
- A Theatrical Costume and Design course qualification to degree level, or comparable qualification or experience in a relevant craft skills area
- A proven track record in craft skills workrooms with a major producing theatre or venue, or comparable film/TV experience
- experience in craft skills workrooms and/or tailoring with a major production theatre or venue, or comparable film/TV experience

- some practical making experience and a sympathetic approach to creative concepts, and ability to realise them in practical terms
- good knowledge of traditional methods of construction, periods styles, and history of costumes an advantage
- the ability to accurately interpret design concepts from scale drawings and sketches
- A knowledge of standard opera and ballet repertoire an advantage
- an interest and ability to assist in supervising the activities of junior and casual staff, apprentices, and work placements, as required
- A Theatrical Costume and Design course qualification or a relevant apprenticeship qualification in a relevant craft skills area is desirable
- an exceptional track record in technical stage work gained from working in a live performance environment. Current experience is essential
- an excellent knowledge of costume fitting and alteration techniques
- knowledge of a good range of techniques associated with dyeing, digital printing, painting, spraying, and breaking down
- experience of working in a major repertory house an advantage
- A good strong awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy
- A range of stage technical skills in key areas including props, scenic, rigging skills, pyrotechnics and effects are an advantage
- some knowledge of modern and traditional methods of construction, periods styles, and history of costumes
