RM Broadband develops, delivers and supports RM‘s Internet services product portfolio, primarily focussed on the schools and education sector. RM Broadband have been providing Internet services since 1995 and currently supplies them to over 3000 sites and 1 million users, with the biggest customer being the South West Grid for Learning. Services include leased line, FTTP, FTTC or 4G Internet connectivity; RM SafetyNet web filtering; managed firewalls; remote access VPNs and managed WAN services. The job holder will work within the Broadband Infrastructure development team, and will be responsible for the architecture, technical development and 4th line operational support of various ISP-based products and services. The job holder will work at all stages of the development life cycle, from conception or initial user requirements through design, development, testing, operational and delivery handover and product maintenance. Overview: Reporting to the Head of Service Development, the Cyber Security Architect will be responsible for ensuring that Security requirements and practices are embedded in our services to Schools and Trusts. They will be key in developing new services to help Schools in Trusts improve their Cyber Security posture and comply with relevant standards. This role will enable you to get exposure across all RM’s Service Offerings working closely with technical and operational teams influencing and helping make key decisions. Responsibilities: Main responsibilities include but are not limited to: Defining security requirements for RM’s services Design Security architectures that manage business risks Design Security controls in line with good industry Security practices (for example: NIST, ISO, NCSC, etc.), and relevant UK Cyber Regulation and Standards. Working with stakeholders across the business to develop a security roadmap which addresses key cyber security risks Working with product managers, to develop new Security Services and to embed Cyber Security within other Managed Service offerings Working closely with Operations teams to ensure that security best practices are followed Working with Marketing and Sales on product campaigns, sales collateral and customer product information The role and its responsibilities can be expected to evolve across time.
