  • we supply a wide range of parts to both trade and the general public
  • order, receive, and bill all parts
  • maintain proper storage of parts
  • take inventory
  • receive goods inwards and stock shelves
  • we provide a high-quality service for our customers, being responsible for maintaining and repairing customer vehicles and fleets and inspecting vehicles to VOSA standard

health & safety manager

Responsibility

  • being the organisations expert and leading on furthering a culture that focuses on health and safety
  • maintaining and continuously developing the Health and Safety management system to ensure it remains current and fit for purpose
  • this includes the incorporation of any updates in legislation and liaising with the company’s external Health & Safety consultants
  • supporting the staff team to manage the key risks of Fire, Gas, Electrical, Asbestos and Hazardous Substances
  • providing Health and Safety training, inductions and weekly toolbox talks for staff
  • managing and auditing our policy and standard operating procedure for lone working
  • providing a first point of contact for all Health and Safety matters throughout the organisation for both staff, suppliers, contractors and customers
  • ensuring that risk assessments, policies, standard operating procedures and Health and Safety management systems are reviewed on a regular basis, ensuring that they remain current and fit for purpose

Requirements

  • holding an industry recognised professional health and safety qualification
  • experience in a similar role in a comparable fast-paced sector
  • an ability to provide risk-based solutions to a range of stakeholders on complex Health and Safety issues
  • an interest in Human Resources and Employee support is highly desirable
  • an ability to understand, interpret and apply UK Health, Safety and Wellbeing legislation and best practice to deliver accurate and tailored Health, Safety and Wellbeing advice and guidance to all stakeholders
  • the knowledge, skills and experience to deliver and the interpersonal, communication and persuasion skills to bring everyone with you on the journey

  • inspect vehicles to the latest DVSA standards
  • ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and fully
  • ensure that the workshop facilities, equipment and tools are kept clean, tidy, and maintained
  • attend any technical or developmental training that is made available
  • ensure that you conduct yourself in a business like and professional manner
