general Reinsurance, London Branch is offering a unique opportunity for a Senior Life Underwriter to work in our London Life Health Insurance Department
as a key member of the UK and Ireland underwriting team, the successful candidate will be expected to administer, implement and promote all aspects of Gen Re underwriting philosophy practice for UK and Ireland and to ensure that high levels of service are met and maintained
accountant
Responsibility
to assist the team with tasks such as claims administration, portfolio administration, data backloading and general administrative tasks across multiple clients
provide information to the Client Account Manager for inclusion in the monthly management information pack
financial accountant

to extract data from source systems, applying appropriate adjustments transparently and providing outputs and analysis to support the submission of Information
to maintain and develop control checks to ensure workings are consistent and accurate with underlying data
to make and recommend process changes and streamline the production of information
to ensure all information and returns are prepared in a timely manner and complete for review
to remain up to date with changes in reporting regimes and assist the implementation of such changes
to assist in the preparation of a wide range of information and reporting completed by the London Finance team including prepayments and accruals schedules
to liaise with both internal and external clients including assisting the external audit team with questions as and when they arise
to maintain procedures manuals for areas of focus
Requirements
strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data whilst paying particular attention to detail and accuracy
must be highly organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities and operate various applications in order to meet tight deadlines
good understanding of Accruals and Prepayments and how they are calculated
knowledge of the preparation of VAT returns
good written and verbal communication skills
the ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or passed their CIMA/ACCA stage 1 with the relevant experience in an accounting role to support this. For this role you are committed to starting or continuing your ACCA/CIMA qualification
self-motivated and a willing to learn
ability to work in a team environment. Be easy to approach and able to convey information, ideas and viewpoints in an appropriate manner

collaborate with business functions on defining business cases for data, analytical, and AI projects based on an understanding of value drivers and knowledge of technical possibilities
establish best practices integrations across modern systems, tools, and technologies
collaborations with both the business and IT teams to define business problems, refine the requirements, and design and develop analytics systems or end-to-end solutions
Requirements
bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Computer Science, Information Systems, a science or engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
