Responsibilities:- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and food preparation- Oversee and coordinate the work of kitchen staff- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to recipes and standards- Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new menu items and specials- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environmentRequirements:- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and practices- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously- Excellent communication and leadership skills- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededPlease note that bartending experience is not relevant to the Sous Chef position, so it is not included in the job description.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: £28,862.00-£29,737.00 per yearBenefits:Company pensionSchedule:10 hour shiftEvery weekendWeekend availabilitySupplemental pay types:TipsAbility to commute/relocate:Newport: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Experience:Chef: 2 years (preferred)Cooking: 2 years (preferred)Licence/Certification:Driving Licence (preferred)Work authorisation:United Kingdom (required)Work Location: In person
