Responsibility
- safely drive a company van to deliver products to customers within the estimated arrival time
- plan and determine appropriate delivery routes and maintain schedules
- communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise
- conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van to ensure the safety and security of the loading and unloading process
- maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays
- inform line manager of any significant repairs and maintenance of van
- ensure vehicle is kept clean and tidy between deliveries
- occasional overnight stays if location cannot be reached within normal working hours
Requirements
- demonstrate excellent communication skills, build and maintain strong relationships with customers
- drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner always ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements
- deal with any customer issues in a polite and effective manner
- good knowledge of the local area with strong map reading skills
- attention to detail to ensure deliveries are completed as per the correct procedure
- adaptability to meet service demands and work effectively in a team
- able to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
- full clean UK licence
