- you will be required to plan the workload and activities within the team
- assembly and fitting of control panel units and electrical enclosures from 0.5m x 0.5m up to 2m x 2m in size
- this is a long term opportunity which may turn in to a permanent opportunity
- fit and assembly of mechanical components making use of appropriate machinery/hand tools
- you will be required to prepare, build and inspect a variety of mechanical assemblies
- you will be working from engineering drawings and manuals
- the Mechanical Fitter will be required to prepare, build and inspect a variety of medium and large sized mechanical assemblies
- the Mechanical Fitter will be required to be hands-on assisting the build of new machinery for customers
- to work as part of the Machine Build Main Assembly Team
- ensure that all H&SE policies and the company ISO guidelines are adhered to during manufacture
- record activities using PC
- reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and building mechanical panels accordingly
- you will be required to complete all relevant documentation and create inspection reports
- as a Mechanical Fitter you will be working from kitted parts building medium to large assemblies
- lead Continuous Improvement projects for test area proving daily SPQCD updates to technicians
- adhering to HSE, you will make sure all members of team are fully trained and motivate them
- as a Mechanical Fitter you will be required to undertake some supervisory duties
- liaising and assisting other production team members to ensure that all control panels are built correctly
- to fit and assemble sub-assemblies and incorporate these into complete machines
- you will be required to work on a variety of pumps, motors, valves and seals
- you will be required to work with castings, impellers and seals
- the Mechanical Fitter will be required to work within a lean manufacturing environment
- to build pneumatic equipment used to control the machines transport systems
- check & verify test specifications for upcoming tests on the schedule
- assembling frames, doors, panels and trunking
- as a Mechanical Fitter you will be required to disassemble, inspect and assemble products
- as a Mechanical Fitter you will be required to mount pumps on to skids or base plates
- set up / Install seals for testing
- to ensure that all parts and assemblies are correctly fitted and assembled together in accordance with the agreed tolerances and procedures
- we require a number of Mechanical Fitters to work for a company who specialises in providing process technologies to the water & waste water utilities

- the work will be varied and although you will be based out of their head office close to Bedford you will be working on a variety of sites across the Hertfordshire, Essex and Cambridgshire areas

- previous experience of doing mechanical assembly or fitting of medium to large assemblies is essential
- as a Mechanical Fitter you will have experience of working with high precision components and assemblies
