Responsibility

  • participate in effective full family assessment alongside other agencies in a way which avoids duplication and promote holistic intervention planning
  • support children to return to or remain in education, including increasing school attendance and attainment wherever possible
  • support children, young people and families on an individual or group basis in a flexible and creative way through a variety of activities and events
  • keep comprehensive records of work undertaken and provide these promptly alongside preparing other appropriate records, including preparing reports for reviews, case conferences and courts

Requirements

  • A background in social care, youth work or other related area
  • the successful applicant must be based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire or Derby given that community home visiting is required
  • full driving licence with unrestricted access to your own car
  • please note this is a Community Role so although the office base is homebased you need to be able to travel to Nottingham, Nottinghamshire or Derby

Requirements

  • A Social Work qualification
  • professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent
  • proven ability to produce a high standard of report writing
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures
  • ability to work in partnership with placing authorities
  • ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with young people and adults
  • confidence with transporting children and young people in sometimes stressful/difficult situations
  • the willingness and ability to travel extensively

Responsibility

  • ensure each child and foster parent are fully compliant in respect of all key documentation
  • participate in day ‘duty system’ on a rota basis supporting referrals team
  • undertake occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments
