Responsibility
- our busy Bistro is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to assist our team with the preparation of food and dishes
- you will be responsible for cleaning, washing, controlling inventory, organising the stockroom and fridges, and emptying rubbish bins
- you will need excellent communication skills, a passion for exceeding customer expectations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the chef
- preparing ingredients, including washing and chopping
- clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- help with inventory management and restocking supplies
- assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
Requirements
- previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is required
- knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and use of kitchen equipment
- sound knowledge of food safety regulations
- physically fit and able to stand for entire shifts
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- excellent teamwork and communication skills
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
