Responsibility

• we are now looking for Cutting Plant Packers to join our busy team
• you will have a minimum of 2 years experience within a meat packing plant holding a relevant Food Safety qualification
• working within a chilled environment you will be packing and boxing lamb and mutton products to customer specifications

• pickstock Foods Ltd is a family run lamb and sheep abattoir and cutting plant located outside of the village of Hartshorne near the town of Swadlincote in Derbyshire
• working as part of a team there is a team linked bonus scheme available
• we source lambs and sheep from around Great Britain as well as our own farms to supply to the domestic and export markets
• the factory is a 5 minute drive from junction 13 of the A42 and is located in a beautiful rural setting within the National Forest
• this role provides the opportunity to learn transferable trade skills with the opportunity for progression within the company
• the factory and it's site has been recently renovated and modernised from 2019-2020 following relocation of the previous occupants in 2014 and features a brand new state of the art slaughter line and cutting plant
• be IT literate
• be able to work within a team
• reliable and Flexible with approach to work hours. Occasional weekend working is required
• pack items into designated containers according to company standards and procedures
• to ensure that all products are correctly packaged, as per our customer’s requirements / specification
• inspect items for defects or damages before packing
• you will be required to undertake such duties as required in a safe manner
• adhere to the Food Safety, site and departmental policies and procedures
• ensure that items are properly labeled and sealed
• to take reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions whilst at work
• maintain a clean and organized work area

Responsibility

• the majority of deliveries involve some heavy lifting into customer’s premises
• A general inspection of the vehicle for roadworthiness with any defects recorded and handed to the office
• have a good understanding of the legal requirements regarding driver’s hours and making sure all tachograph entries are correct

• you will be part of a 2 man crew taking our meat products to mainly the London area doing multi drop deliveries on set routes

Requirements

• driving: 2 years
• driving a Goods Vehicle: 2 years

Responsibility

• picking and palletising orders for delivery or pickup according to schedules provided
• palletising of products for stock
• raising despatch paperwork using our in house computer system

• keep your equipment clean and sanitised
• keep working areas tidy – clean as you go sterilise and sanitise food contact surfaces
• ensuring that the dispatch area, fridges, freezers and linked passageways to dispatch are clear and clean
