Responsibility
- overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities
- maintaining an effective liaison with the accountant, overseeing practice accounts, ensuring year-end figures are presented
- prepare monthly payroll for all staff

- coordinating and leading the compilation of practice reports and the practice development plan
- ensuring organisational requirements of the Practice contracts are fully met and complied with
- development and implementation of processes to achieve clinical targets of QOF and enhanced services
- ensuring the team reach QOF targets
- adopting a strategic approach to the management of all patient services matters
- liaising with the ICS and payment agencies regarding queries with payments relating to the contract, e.g. Enhanced Services
- contributing to profit improvement by exploring areas for increasing income and reducing costs
- developing, implementing and embedding an effective communication strategy
- analysing data relating to clinical commissioning as appropriate and contribute to planning and organisation both at practice and group level
- ensuring the practice maintains compliance with its NHS contractual obligations
- liaising at external meetings as required
- marketing the practice appropriately
- to aid with the recruitment, induction and training of new staff
- keep accurate records of all staff annual and sickness leave for payroll purposes
- to liaise with CCG IT support department to resolve other hardware and software issues
- deputise for the senior partner at internal and external meetings
- to provide support, advice and training for current and new practice staff in the use of the Clinical System
- to support and participate in initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all practice users. This includes following procedures to ensure the control of potential hazards to health and safety
- routinely monitor and assess practice performance against patient access and demand targets
- act as the primary point of contact for NHS , CCG, community services, suppliers and other external stakeholders
- to keep up to date with all employment law and new legislation
- maintain good communication at all times with the practice team
- participate in audit where appropriate
- contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the team’s performance
