Responsibility

- liaise with Building manager to arrange all agency cover required
- lead the delivery of cleaning, portering, materials management, pest control, patient cater, retail catering and window cleaning at a consistently elevated level that meet contractual obligations
- manage the delivery of all services in your specific area to provide consistently high levels of performance that meet contractual obligations and strategic objectives of the client
- carry out site inspections to ensure standards are being maintained within waste yards and that all waste processes are being carried out correctly and safety, within agreed schedules and processes
- assist the Building Manager in the delivery of all services in your specific area to provide consistently high levels of performance that meet contractual obligations to customers and the strategic objectives of the client
- maximise staffing levels and efficiency by actively engaging with recruitment processes, colleague engagement and staff development programs and personnel absence management
- measure service delivery standards and ensure the contract is delivered to the expect standards to reduce risk of any financial penalties
- conduct toolbox talks, safety and environmental training for the OCS Waste Operatives
- manage staff holidays with supervisors to ensure key staff are not booked off at the same time
- work with the General Manager and other Service Managers to assure and require compliance with Service Parameters, contracted obligations, statutory requirements, and best practice ) and Health, Safety and Environment requirements
- to always ensure an efficient delivery of a quality service, through the drive of 'One Company, One Team' - One Complete Solution
- ensure that staff training is up to date with the active management of the site Training Matrix
- to hold regular team briefings that cover all relevant topics as outlined on the company core briefing sheet
- ensure all staff personnel files are up to date and carry out any admin required
- work in close cooperation with Trust Representatives, including IPC representatives, to ensure that clinical requirements are met in line with contracted requirements, NHS Cleanliness standards and the NHS Cleaning Manual
- to ensure the contract operates within all current legislation and client policies and that where appropriate, staff are made aware of their responsibilities
- manage budgeted level of labour and consumables to meet operational requirements while meeting commercial targets
- to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- liaise with waste contractors to ensure smooth and timely removal of waste from site, collating relevant documentation to support reporting and invoicing requirements
- motivate staff throughout OAB to deliver high quality service to customers
- identify, mitigate and control risks by taking a risk-based approach to the management of Service Parameters and contracted operational compliance; identifying control measures and monitoring required actions
- have profit and loss accountability for the relevant services to ensure that budgetary targets are met
- to provide a monthly cleaning report showing status of operations and highlighting any key points, Issues and areas of risk or concern
- to manage all third party contractors both prior to attending site, whilst on site and collection of post completion documentation prior to any payment being made
- to effectively manage Timegate include editing of shifts, pay rates and hours. Add all overtime shifts and ensure all holiday and absence shifts are covered
- identify areas of noncompliance or elevated risk of failure; planning and monitoring remedial actions within agreed timeframes and to agreed action plans
- to ensure all waste removed from the site is controlled and measured in relation to volumes via the relevant waste carrier and to ensure waste transfer documentation is provided in line with the contractual requirements and presented in a legally compliant format
- to drive a one team ethos through the whole centre and ensure that all OCS staff are working together to enhance the 'customer experience' from the minute they enter the centre to the minute they leave
- actively maximise and protect revenue in all service lines
- ensure that the contract operates within H&S policies and procedures and in line with COSHH and risk assessments
- contribute to the delivery of the Monthly Service Performance Monitoring Report and any other performance reports as may be required
- provide regular reporting on operational performance
- this is to include any peripheral services supplied to the client such as window cleaning, pest control, hygiene or any other service provided by OCS
- identify, plan, and thereafter assess the effectiveness of service enhancements and NWoW as part of a process of continual service improvement
- maintain legislative documentation such as Waste Transfer Notes, Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes and Producer Returns for the minimum period as instructed by OCS Environment Manager
- ensure staff receive appropriate support and training to safely carry out their duties
- ensure adequate products, equipment and materials are available to the contract standard and are properly stored, maintained and purchased in accordance with Company procedures
Requirements
- proven experience in a cleaning management role - preferably within the private sector
- forklift Truck License
- good numeracy and literacy skills

- experience using cleaning machinery and delivering a cleaning service within tight timelines
- previous budget accountability including the management of a team in excess of 112 employees is essential
- good communicator
- experience in the management of change and continual improvement programs
- excellent personnel management skills
- management of industrial multi services contracts preferable
- able to work well on own initiative and prioritise a fluctuating workload
- experience in report writing for complex subjects to be effectively communicated to a variety of levels
- strong motivation and team building skills
- membership of an applicable professional organisation, e.g.: IWFM, BICSc
- 2 years+ management experience across a range of service disciplines
