senior engineer

Responsibility

  • perform rigorous data modelling and analysis to address complex challenges and enhance decision-making processes
  • promote and adhere to agile methodologies, ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered within agreed timelines
  • enforce and refine the bank’s software development lifecycle , standards, and design principles across all data lifecycle management aspects
  • spearhead data engineering initiatives including release management, environment control, and CI/CD pipeline orchestration
  • provide technical front-end support to end-users, ensuring effective functionality and addressing any issues
  • development, and maintenance of data engineering services, focusing on storage, orchestration, transformation, and semantic layers within the bank's data warehouse
  • proactively manage code migrations across environments to maintain functionality and synchronisation
  • executing on architectural and ELT processes, data warehouse structures, data marts, cubes, and dashboards that align with the bank’s strategic goals and best practices

Requirements

  • extensive hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure BI stack, especially Azure Synapse but also including Azure ADF, Azure Blob Storage
  • experience with CI/CD pipelines, and PowerBI
  • proven expertise in BI development, with a minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in the financial services sector
  • good understanding Kimball data model, with a metabase architecture
  • demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Warehouse environment
  • experience in Python and R is useful
  • solid track record of delivering solutions that involve complex data models and architectures using both relational and dimensional models
  • strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across various departments and with external partners

full stack developer
