kitchen manager
Responsibility
- supervise and coordinate the kitchen team,including chefs,cooks,kitchen porters,and other kitchen staff
- oversee all aspects of food preparation,ensuring dishes are cooked to perfection and plated attractively
- monitor food production and cooking processes to maintain consistency and timely service during peak hours
- train and mentor kitchen staff,providing guidance on culinary techniques and best practices
- manage inventory and food cost to ensure budgetary goals are met while maintaining quality
- collaborate with the head chef or executive chef to plan and execute menus,specials,and promotions
- monitor and enforce food safety and sanitation regulations,maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
- handle any kitchen-related issues or emergencies that may arise during shifts
Requirements
- proven experience as a kitchen manager or in a similar leadership role,preferably in a supervisory role
- exceptional culinary skills and in-depth knowledge of various cooking methods and ingredients
- strong leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate kitchen staff effectively
- ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices
- excellent organizational,problem-solving abilities and time management skills
- creativity and a passion for food,demonstrated through the ability to contribute to menu development
- effective time management skills for handling a fast-paced environment
