Responsibility
- create, align and maintain procedures for the laboratory in order to reinstate UKAS 17025 accreditation and ensure ongoing adherence to these
- ensure the calibration and maintenance schedules of laboratory equipment are adhered to
- to operate the laboratory to a professional high standard and maintain safe working practices within the laboratory
- interpretation of mechanical and metallurgical testing requirements and locations from various customer specifications / drawings and international standards

- co-ordinate with various third-party inspectors as required

- drive expansion of lab capabilities in line with product diversification requirements
Requirements
- knowledge of developing and working within UKAS 17025 accreditation is essential
- good Knowledge of international standards and codes
- excellent communication skills
- self-motivated and driven individual with excellent organizational skills
- preferably Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in material, metallurgical or engineering discipline, or be qualified by experience in a similar field
- proficient in the use of Mechanical and metallurgical testing equipment and sample preparation as per various customer and international standards including but not restricted to tensile, Charpy v notch and HBW/HRC
- proficient in the use of Metallurgical testing equipment and sample preparation as per various customer and international standards including but not restricted to microstructural analysis and interpretation, grainsize measurement, macro testing, cleanliness assessment and corrosion testing
