NEXT STEP INDEPENDENCE is looking for employees for positions:
- experienced in all types of property and grounds maintenance in both indoor and outdoor environments
- experienced/qualified in electrical installations, carpentry, build or plumbing
- skilled at DIY & general property and grounds maintenance
- experience of grounds / garden maintenance
- PAT testing qualification or willingness to train
- A thorough understanding of Health and Safety
- property Maintenance: 3 years
- able to manage and lift heavy equipment/machinery and work at heights
- ensure the safety & wellbeing of our young people and to ensure all safeguarding concerns are reported quickly and appropriately
- to work within the company’s policies and procedures including safeguarding and the home’s Statement of Purpose
- work directly with our young people to support them with the development of their personal, social, health and educational needs
- all staff must keep the welfare and safety of children/vulnerable adults as paramount in their working practice
- to support and encourage our young people to identify and engage in a range of positive activities
- to know the requirements of the Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations and to implement them within the residential setting
- to provide opportunities for our young people to increase their self-esteem and engagement within the community
- develop and follow support plans and assessments. Contributing towards new assessments including risk assessments as required
- strong communication skills
- eligible to work in the UK
- over 21 years old
- strong written and communication skills
- to have a full driving license and use of vehicle with business insurance
- to have a clean driving license and use of vehicle with business insurance
- to be confident, composed and level-headed
- to be able to work as part of a close team
- registered Children Home: 2 years
- working with young people: 1 year
- undertake administrative work as directed by your line Manager
- work directly with young people to support them with the development of their personal, social, health and educational needs
- attend and actively engage in your own supervision & training sessions
- work as a part of a team. Both attending and when required, running staff meetings, supervisions, and training sessions
