Location: Multimatic Special Vehicle Operations Europe, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom In the role of Composite Fitter / Trimmer you will be responsible for: Fitting and Trimming of composite components and composite moulds for projects in the Automotive industry requiring strong attention to detail, cost and quality. Carrying out work in adherence to technical drawings, internal and external specifications and build instructions as appropriate ensuring accuracy. Bonding and trimming assemblies in accordance with defined processes. Fettling moulds and patterns would be an advantage. Identifying, defining and supporting the introduction of continuous improvement activities in the area of trimming and assembly. Specific Skills & Experience: Candidates must be able to demonstrate significant previous experience of trimming a broad range of composite materials in the Motorsport / Automotive. Comfortable working to tight time frames with demanding quality requirements. Candidates must demonstrate previous experience of using their own initiative. Composite Technician - Trainee Laminator Huntingdon
Location: Multimatic Special Vehicle Operations Europe, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Role Summary The successful candidate will be employed to learn, develop and enhance their own skills to be able to independently operate as a multi-skilled, adaptable Composite Laminator. Working with pre-preg carbon fibre, the Trainee Composite Laminator will be responsible for kitting, layup, bagging and de-bagging of the component. The successful candidate will be trained to work to complex engineering drawings and with moulds to produce high precision composite components. Core Responsibilities Carry out Tool preparation,(Clean and apply Release Agent) Kitting and lay-up operations, (Cutting kit of materials for build sequence, Lay up material on to mould surface correct orientation and build sequence.) Understanding of Shelf Life of Materials would be an advantage. Vacuum bagging techniques (Manufacture breather bag material kit) Supports and conforms to quality procedures to maintain compliance, by ensuring adherence to the defined processes and procedures. Operate within all Multimatic health and safety procedures. Detects and highlight any issues to team leaders in timely manner skills, knowledge & responsibilities. Composites Technician ? Laminator Huntingdon

This brand new facility incorporates an extensive list of new equipment and facilities to enhance Multimatic’s leadership in this field. Together with being part of a start-up venture, this is an exciting opportunity for anyone who desires hands-on experience with components destined for high performance vehicles, advanced composites and has a passionate interest in automobiles. Due to this new facility, Multimatic is looking for Composite Technicians – Laminator who will be responsible for constructing complex composite parts from resin-impregnated carbon fibre, glass fibre and aramid cloth. Facility Address: Multimatic, Unit B2, 18 Glebe Road, Huntingdon, PE29 7DL. Key Responsibilities: Manufacture tooling and components for high performance vehicles. Prepare patterns for tool manufacture, layup carbon fibre tooling material. Verify material kit received. Prepare and apply sealants and release agents Hand layup pre-preg carbon fibre material as per instructions provided Create vacuum for autoclave cure ensuring no leaks and that the bag forms complete shape of the tool including bag checks for leaks and placement within the autoclave. Load & unload autoclave (positioning tools to encourage efficient part temperature control). Connect up vacuum and sensor Lines. Structural bonding of metallic and composite materials Use of film adhesives and honeycomb (aluminium and Nomex) Achieve production schedule Ensure the facility environment is kept safe, clean and organized Observe all company safety rules, policies and procedures Attend all required training courses
