Requirements
we are looking for candidates with a HND, BEng or direct relevant experience in Manufacturing
ability to use CAD to a basic level
proven track record of project management
ability to create project plans and track progress
previous experience in a similar role
proven track record of managing teams
ability to demonstrate a good understanding of engineering organisations, support systems, processes, manufacturing methods and tools
be a results orientated person who has demonstrated leadership ability
Responsibility
you will create assembly processes and work instructions, support with manufacturing assembly problems daily
you will ensure all processes and tooling meet any legal compliance standards required including ergonomic assessments and COSHH register
you will work closely with the Engineering team and suppliers to promote design for Manufacturing ‘DFM’ methods
the main purpose of the role will be to Lead the Manufacturing Engineering department and you will be responsible for the design and layout of manufacturing areas including tooling specifications and equipment
you will create a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing and other teams, creating a high performing team. You will hold regular reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team, both individually and as a team
you will lead the engineering change process making sure all parts are correctly trialled and approved before introduction and all production information is updated, pick sheet update and assembly instructions and timing is completed
you will support assembly when there is a need for technical support or any other special business requirements; this may include fault-finding or Health and Safety Investigations
