- work closely with other departments to ensure published environments function as required in the pipeline
- the Lighting Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Lighting TD’s to create, direct and reflect lighting and shadows that meet the creative direction and vision of the project
- partner with Talent Management in relation to all departmental personnel responsibilities
- interfaces with other departments to ensure the seamless combination of work from other disciplines
- may cover On Set Supervision, where appropriate; participates and assisting in plate photography

- manages and is responsible for all aspects of 2D compositing. Determines the technical approach and provides the technical leadership to achieve the desired level of compositing on shows

- develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the individual skills sets of the Artists in the lighting department
- supervise an environments team towards the creation of published CG environments that meet required visual and technical standards and are delivered on time
- attends show “post mortem” meetings, designing and implementing streamlined processes where applicable
- attend bidding sessions with production and provide bids for environment work
- provide clear, concise and timely feedback for colleagues and peers in other departments
- play a proactive key role in marketing ILM's services to the industry
- work with your global counterparts to drive the development of tools, standards and processes
- collaborates with the Talent manager with the employee review process and the scheduling of personnel on shows, providing input on skills, productivity, and career development
- works with Production in the estimation of bids and schedules and in staffing requirements including assessing individuals skills and delegate work appropriately

- working with ILM Senior Management, understand capacity issues locally and work in conjunction to mitigate Studio capacity issues, as and when possible
- work with the CG Supervisor to determine the appropriate skillset and experience levels for the environment team on your project

- test new tools and offer feedback to the developers
