Working hours
- full-time | Contract
Responsibility
- complete routine maintenance testing and checks identified in the maintenance manual and regulative checks such as fire drills
- complete general routine maintenance
- to carry out tasks that involve moving and handling of furniture and equipment as requested
- liaise with external contractors
- carry out basic decorating / refurbishment of rooms and properties including flooring and cleaning
- some caretaker duties such as putting away deliveries and ordering stock
- you will carry out the day-to-day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure the care home is maintained to safety standards and are in good functional order and well presented
- stock taking
Requirements
- you have a can-do attitude with experience working in building maintenance
- ideally, some of that has been gained in a care home setting
- as well as being very practical, you like dealing with people
- you’re happy building good relationships with residents, colleagues and contractors
- you’re a multi-tasker who can work well under pressure and use your initiative to solve problems
- you’ve got a good basic education with GCSEs (or the equivalent
- maintenance: 3 years
- care home maintenance: 2 years
