Responsibility

  • to play a key role in marketing the Nursery to prospective parents, attend and participate in Open Day events, etc
  • meeting the EYFS and Ofsted Requirements, Compliance with all regulatory requirements etc
  • ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understands and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures
  • we are looking for a Nursery manager who has an active and hands-on approach to supporting staff and delivery of Learning, Development and Care for children at the nursery

  • we are a small nursery with a total capacity of about 30 children. We have 5 members of staff at the nursery
  • as a Nursery Manager, you are to provide professional leadership and management of the nursery; effectively manage the day-to-day running of the nursery; deliver the highest standards of care and education

Responsibility

  • providing prices for materials included in project plans, schedules of work and drawings
  • taking measurements from architect’s drawings and calculating materials quantities
  • contacting a range of suppliers and sub‐contractors to obtain quotations
  • negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured
  • placing purchase orders for all materials, equipment and subcontractors and arranging call-offs
  • agreeing delivery times
  • liaising closely with Foremen/Contract/Project managers to ensure the timely procurement of materials
  • keeping detailed, accurate records and maintaining well‐organised work schedules

Requirements

  • practical experience within the construction industry. Experience of the landscape industry in particular would be advantageous
  • knowledge and understanding of construction materials
  • strong budgeting abilities
  • excellent organisational and planning skills
  • able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • excellent communication skills

maintenance operative

Requirements

  • operate a range of tools, equipment and machinery and regularly check these items to ensure they remain in good working order
  • ensures that delivery of materials are checked and discrepancies in quantity and quality are reported to LDC’s Contract Manager/Buyer
  • ensures that all landscape maintenance/installation work is completed in accordance with LDC’s contract with the client
  • ensures that all maintenance/installation work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
  • comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and working practices
  • ensure correct procedures are followed for stock control
  • in conjunction with the Landscape Maintenance Foreman read and understand contract/architects drawings to ensure maintenance and any defect planting required is completed in line with specification and to standard
  • interact/liaises with clients in order to ensure client satisfaction is maintained at all times
