Responsibility

  • working from supplied drawings to complete fabrication of projects
  • working from supplied assembly drawings to complete fabrication of projects varying in complexity
  • measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling. Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery
  • ensure production timings are met
  • reasonable understanding of weld defects under visual inspection desirable
  • carry out and record daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and safety checks
  • jones Engineering are a well-established family run Agricultural Machinery Manufacturer based near Epworth, Doncaster and are looking for a time served apprentise Plater/Welder to complement their growing team
  • A good work ethic and attitude

Requirements

  • forward thinking individual who is not afraid to take on responsibility
  • time served apprentise plater/fabricator preferred
  • time served plater/fabricator, minimum of 10 years
  • mig welding experience essential
  • to have the ability to be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • measuring and cutting size, utilising main factory equipment
  • able to work direct from drawings as well as instruction

Responsibility

  • the role will include responsibility for new projects and the on-going development of current machines
  • using Autodesk Inventor Pro 3D CAD package to design new products and mechanisms, and modify existing drawings
  • responsibility for the creation of new bills of materials and the manipulation of existing BOMS
  • completing documentation for products including parts books and engineering drawings
  • the successful candidate will contribute to our success by working not only on their own initiative, but also by working with other departments to aid in the success of projects

Requirements

  • must be proficient in using Autodesk Inventor
  • experience with Vault preferred
  • minimum 2-year industrial experience in a Drawing Office role
  • an agricultural background would be advantageous
  • well-motivated and creative
  • able to demonstrate lateral thinking
  • able to demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
