managing a caseload of litigated and pre-litigated Clinical Negligence files, both straightforward and complex
limitation reviews- daily and then the 3-month reviews
lead, motivate, and develop a team of EL/PL claims handlers, ensuring high performance and engagement
conduct relevant investigations in order to repudiate and/or conclude the claim
handling Court Service Emails
provide coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
undertaking Court Telephone Hearings
incoming court post to check for orders/issues such as strike outs
Education
solicitor/FCILEX preferred
knowledge of industry-specific systems and software
strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team
in-depth knowledge of EL/PL policy and procedure, claims processes, and relevant legal regulations
excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to assess complex claims and make sound decisions
ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
proven track record of managing a team in a claims or insurance environment, with expertise in EL/PL claims and legal frameworks
minimum 10 years of experience in employment liability and public liability claims handling, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
