  • support achievement of the business’s quality and warranty targets
  • oversee and assist with coordination of design validation tests/analyses
  • develop system and component FMEA's and DFA's
  • be part of an innovative design team that will deliver a work programme from concept to delivery within a time constrained environment
  • liaise with Test and Development, Manufacturing Operations and full machine build teams to drive forward Endurance, Customer Evaluation and Design Validation builds
  • support programme gateways and reviews, assisting to ensure all project documentation is planned for and in place for technical and gate reviews
  • work with and support suppliers to deliver prototype and PPAP parts to schedule, meeting the high quality and performance requirements expected of a JCB product

Responsibility

  • lead and ensure the team will deliver the work programme from concept to delivery
  • lead the Category Polymer function for the Operator Environment team
  • operate in accordance with external ISO legislation as well as internal JCB standards
  • problem analysis and proposal of design solutions
  • liaise with internal/external customers/departments, as required during projects
  • support achievement of business’s quality and warranty targets
  • lead and develop system and component FMEA and DFMA
  • lead/present at project gateways and technical reviews with supporting documentation as required

Requirements

  • have experience in product design in either off highway, material handling or agricultural machines
  • proven delivery of concept through to production as part of NPI Process
  • A sound grasp of engineering principles
  • enthusiastic and self-starting with the ability to make things happen
  • good project and supplier management skills, with commercial & customer awareness
  • be able to work to deadlines and deliver on time
  • be a great team player & have good communication skills
  • ideally experienced in Cab design with knowledge of Polymers, moulding techniques, tooling process, pressings, surface design, BIW experience and processes to produce class leading interior fit and finish
