Responsibility
- determine the required materials and generating purchase orders
- ensure materials meet specifications, quality standards and are cost efficient
- ensure consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production
- schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products
- work with Suppliers to ensure they comply with delivery requirements
- work with suppliers to provide future order estimates to ensure consistent supply of raw materials
- following up on expected and overdue deliveries
- co-ordinate with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments etc
Requirements
- strong Organisational and time management skills
- knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
- the ability to work under pressure
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- good communication skills, both verbal and written
- commercial awareness
- background in mattress, upholstery, or furniture buying preferred but not a necessity
