Requirements
- degree or Postgraduate Qualification in Broadcast Journalism or other relevant academic qualification is highly advantageous
- minimum of 2 years previous experience as a journalist
- minimum of 2 year’s experience as a television reporter
- ability to prioritise workload effectively and work to conflicting deadlines
- excellent attention to detail
- good knowledge and passion in social, cultural and political affairs and/or content relevant to the department
- basic knowledge of broadcasting technology
- ability to take leadership, management and ownership of one’s own projects
Responsibility
- generating ideas for stories and features and following leads from news agencies, the public, press conferences and other sources
- identifyingnecessary resources and deploying and managing technical crews for location shoots, including sound operators and camera crew
