responsible for the skilled practical nursing care of residents and the supervision of nursing practice under the direction of the Home Manager, promoting and maintaining a high standard of care
provide skilled nursing care to residents in accordance with agreed care plans, ensuring that all care plans and nursing records are updated accordingly, with accurate concise information
communicating with residents’ relatives, visitors, GP's and medical professionals and acting on any relevant information, reporting to the Home Manager where applicable Identifying residents physical, psychological, social and emotional needs
understanding and adhering to agreed procedures for the ordering, administration and safe custody of medication in accordance with the Home Policy for the use and storage of medication and/or any other guidelines set by regulatory/inspecting authorities

take day to day responsibility in organising and leading the care team
support new staff during induction and probationary period and conduct formal reviews after 3 months with Home Manager
ensure daily care records are recorded accurately by care staff and all charts are completed each shift as required
hold team meetings regularly alongside Unit Managers to discuss smooth running and organisation of the unit
to implement and maintain high standards of care within their unit, ensuring that those standards are achieved by all the care team
