highway Maintenance is seeking to recruit an Assistant Engineer to work within the Area 3 Highway Maintenance Team of Streetscene Services
you will be based at the Beverley Depot within a team of four officers responsible for delivering the highway maintenance service for one fifth of the East Riding’ area
this is a front facing post so you will have daily contact with members of the public and other stakeholders, dealing with their enquiries on all aspects of the highway maintenance function, so good interpersonal and communication skills are required
you will also be responsible for carrying out Highway Safety Inspections within your designated area, which could involve working alone or as part of a two-man team to ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations
further training will be provided where necessary including access to part time study of a relevant course on a day release basis
