Responsibility
- understanding Risk Assessments, maintaining Safe Systems of Work & leading by example by demonstrably carrying out your activities safely
- maintaining & improving equipment to optimize the day to day running of the facility
- demonstrating effective fault finding and problem-solving skills concerning; pneumatic, hydraulic, and plc equipment
- ensuring PPMs are developed, documented & carried out in a timely manner
- developing a collaborative working relationship with the Operational charge hands & peers in Supply Chain and Sales & Marketing
- using your initiative & working closely with the Maintenance Manager to make engineering decisions regarding the optimized running of the manufacturing facility
Requirements
- mechanical engineering qualification with a good understanding of Mechanical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics and general fitting duties
- experience in a similar manufacturing environment with knowledge of plastic extrusion, injection moulding & ancillary equipment being advantageous
- able to work within & build constructive relationships with a small team
- capable of working unsupervised at times & wiling to be flexible with working hours as in line with business needs
- mechanical Fitter: 3 years
- flexible, confident & the ability to use own initiative are essential, as the role requires quick thinking and the ability to respond at short notice, enabling the maintenance department to offer an efficient and effective service
