  • the successful candidate will be responsible for
  • assist the Commercial Director to prepare and submit funding, tender applications, grant responses and project estimates
  • to write appropriate content for tender applications, working with subject experts across the organisation
  • to attend site and prepare quotes/estimates for works together with site surveys and RAM’s
  • develop and maintain a library of tender information, case studies and content to support bid submissions
  • source the purchasing of electrical supplies and materials at the best market rate constantly negotiating a better deal
  • source the purchase of other goods and services to the business to get the best market rate and contractual terms
  • negotiate and agree payment terms with suppliers conducting reference checks when required

Education

  • minimum 5 years previous experience in writing project proposals and tender responses
  • must have some previous experience estimating electrical works and some training as an electrician is essential
  • must have some previous experience estimating electrical works or some training in electrics essential
  • excellent project or tender composition and compiling skills
  • procurement experience ideally within the electrical or construction industry
  • strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the business
  • strong negotiation skills and the confidence to close a deal
