Responsibility

  • we are Foley & Miles - A privately-owned, long-established family business based in Essex across 2 depots including East Tilbury
  • as a professional HGV Driver you'll be driving modern, clean and well-maintained vehicles from manufactures including Scania and others
  • this position includes driving a 'drawbar combination' equipped with HIAB
  • generally, the starting times are between 5-6am, but some flexibility required and following the EU regs throughout
  • the working pattern is MONDAY to FRIDAY with Saturdays and nights out as optional
  • are you a reliable HGV Driver looking for a long-term career?
  • as a professional HGV Driver you'll be driving modern, clean and well-maintained vehicles from manufactures including Scania and MAN - This position includes driving a 'drawbar combination' equipped with HIAB either MAN or Scania
  • we are currently hiring for a professional Class 1 driver to join our friendly transport team either departing from Tilbury or Thurrock , depending on your location

Requirements

  • level 3 Heavy Goods Vehicles repairs
  • irtech qualification
  • welding qualification preferred but not essential
  • should be self-motivated with initiative
  • understating of hydraulics and basic electrics
  • basic level of numeracy and literacy, in order to complete work documentation
  • fault diagnosis and repair
  • stripping, fitting and replacing components

transport manager

Responsibility

  • monitor vehicle maintenance and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
  • develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs within the transport department
  • liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to coordinate logistics activities
  • prepare reports on transport performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement
  • ensure adherence to legal requirements regarding transportation regulations and health & safety standards

Requirements

  • excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • strong analytical skills for assessing performance metrics and making data-driven decisions
  • knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements is essential
  • A valid driving licence is mandatory
  • must have CPC, knowledge of FORS would be also be advantageous
  • organisational skills: 1 year
