Responsibility
- often, uncertainty arises into what might happen in a building during a fire
- it would be your role to reduce this uncertainty through CFD modelling and other engineering analysis tools
- develop methodologies to analyse buildings, fire, and smoke movement
- the role doesn’t require previous experience with fire or construction
- undertake the analyses and report on the results
- use these results to advise our clients on how to approach fire and smoke within their buildings
- review the legislation, guidance, and clients’ objectives to identify the best fire safety solutions
- we’re looking for people who can approach these problems analytically and develop further expertise in this domain
Requirements
- an engineering degree which includes an element of fluid dynamics
- minimum 2 years’ experience working as an engineer, including the use of CFD for the purposes of fire safety/smoke ventilation
- experience in the construction industry or design of buildings with respect to fire
- A creatively geared person who can understand risk and provide solutions
- an understanding and pro-active interest in the applications and limitations of engineering tools
- A self-starter who is driven by results
- someone who takes personal pride in the quality of their work
- you must be pro-active and enthusiastic
