  • full-time | Permanent

Responsibility

  • often, uncertainty arises into what might happen in a building during a fire
  • it would be your role to reduce this uncertainty through CFD modelling and other engineering analysis tools
  • develop methodologies to analyse buildings, fire, and smoke movement
  • the role doesn’t require previous experience with fire or construction
  • undertake the analyses and report on the results
  • use these results to advise our clients on how to approach fire and smoke within their buildings
  • review the legislation, guidance, and clients’ objectives to identify the best fire safety solutions
  • we’re looking for people who can approach these problems analytically and develop further expertise in this domain

Requirements

  • an engineering degree which includes an element of fluid dynamics
  • minimum 2 years’ experience working as an engineer, including the use of CFD for the purposes of fire safety/smoke ventilation
  • experience in the construction industry or design of buildings with respect to fire
  • A creatively geared person who can understand risk and provide solutions
  • an understanding and pro-active interest in the applications and limitations of engineering tools
  • A self-starter who is driven by results
  • someone who takes personal pride in the quality of their work
  • you must be pro-active and enthusiastic
