Responsibility

mechanical design engineer

Responsibility

  • to develop a design solution that is compliant with all relevant Client Specifications and British Standards
  • to eliminate, reduce or control foreseeable risks that may arise during installation, maintenance and operation when preparing or modifying designs
  • to ensure that site conditions are considered in terms of access and ease of installation
  • to produce fabrication drawings, complete with BOMs, once models are approved for construction
  • to produce detailed installation drawings that will act as guidance for site teams
  • to maintain drawing registers and other internal documentation, ensuring that files are saved and issued correctly
  • to regularly check client portal for revised information and to transfer it to internal servers
  • to report to Project Managers and Project Engineers, advising of any variance between designs and tenders

Requirements

  • BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • experience designing pipework and/or associated equipment
  • experience within the water industry. Food/Oil & Gas/Petrochem experience also considered
  • comfortable reading P&IDs and working from other client design documentation
  • experience with FEA, or basic hand calculations
  • good working knowledge of Solidworks
  • experience using client portals for receiving information and submitting
  • the ability to adapt and work within a fast-paced environment

electrical estimator

Responsibility

  • reporting to the Tendering Manager
  • ensure all tenders are priced accurately to ensure the company remains competitive within the market
  • the candidate must take responsibility for all electrical related estimation works
  • undertaking site visits where necessary to gain a better understanding of the work required
  • playing a key role in submitting and managing bids
  • preparing accurate and timely cost and sales estimates for projects to consistent and competitive levels
  • preparation revision and submission at all required stages through to award
  • preparing and submit offers to clients
