Responsibility

  • ensure comprehensive compliance of the site with environmental, health & safety, and industry-specific regulations
  • manage and oversee waste returns to regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • coordinate and monitor the compliance of all inbound and outbound shipments, including haulage paperwork and regulations
  • collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to ensure seamless integration of compliance requirements with operational activities
  • conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and implement corrective actions
  • stay abreast of regulatory changes and update internal policies and procedures accordingly
  • lead training sessions for staff on compliance practices and regulations

Requirements

  • desirable possession of DGSA
  • essential, current WAMITAB certifications
  • proven experience in a waste management and recycling compliance role, within the recycling or waste management industry
  • in-depth knowledge of environmental legislation, hazardous waste regulations, and safe transportation practices
  • demonstrated ability to manage complex compliance activities and paperwork
  • strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with various stakeholders
