Responsibility

  • sorting and prioritising all incoming clinical documents and allocating actions for the GP
  • signposting relevant correspondence to appropriate team members
  • extracting information from clinical letters that requires coding and accurately updating patient records
  • arranging patient appointments, referrals, investigations, and follow-up appointments
  • completing registrations of new patients
  • preparing insurance reports and Subject Access Requests , using the IGPR programme where possible, ensuring appropriate redaction of records
  • supporting GPs in liaising with external agencies
  • working with care coordinators to assist with the follow-up of delayed patient referrals

Requirements

  • strong organisational and communication skills
  • previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting
  • ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • care Certificate or equivalent healthcare qualification
  • good IT skills and attention to detail
  • experience with clinical systems
  • commitment to patient confidentiality and professionalism
  • interest in developing clinical skills within primary care
