Responsibility

  • manage Engineering-related risks and opportunities, ensuring proper documentation in ARM where applicable, while effectively handling design interfaces and supplier feedback
  • take ownership of Design Change submissions and establish a process to prioritise and resolve queries efficiently, ensuring smooth manufacturing and installation operations
  • collaborate with stakeholders to deliver all engineering deliverables on schedule while ensuring continuous engineering support across all phases, including interfacing with the JDO during installation and escalating issues as needed
  • ensure Technical Acceptance and associated surveillance are delivered as planned, challenging the level of proportionate surveillance undertaken by the Responsible Designer and Nuclear Services where necessary
  • drive technical readiness for construction activities, providing Project Managers with risk assessments, cost/schedule impacts, and expediting the closure of Open Points up to HO4
  • support Quality Management by resolving manufacturing NCRs, expediting equipment qualification programmes, and overseeing procurement specifications, Design Change processes, and contractual obligations for bulk procurement and installation contracts

Requirements

  • strong understanding of integrated management systems, with experience navigating policies, procedures, standards, and documentation relevant to technical and contractual management
  • extensive expertise in your technical discipline, including hands-on site experience
  • skilled in engaging and managing diverse stakeholder groups, effectively facilitating issue resolution
  • excellent communication, influencing, and facilitation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and maintain effective networks
  • proven ability to provide technical leadership in complex, fast-paced projects while maintaining high safety, security, and environmental standards—ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or a similarly regulated industry
