we are the flagship site for the DS Smith Packaging site in the UK and have an opportunity for new colleagues to join our Production Planning team in Fordham under inspiring leadership team
operating a part of a team responsible for the effective running of the planning function for our conversion and corrugator machines, with consistent monitoring of KPI's to ensure quality performance on a daily basis, you will join a team and company which has plenty of opportunities for succession and development from entry through to Management
develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders and inventory levels
responsible for the effective running of the Planning function on a day-to-day basis, creating computer generated production plans for both the corrugator and conversion machines
collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of products
liaise with both Engineering and Operations to decide how capacity demands can be achieved, while releasing machines for crew care or any other necessary repairs
monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders as needed
Requirements
previous experience in inventory control and production planning preferred
strong analytical and problem-solving skills
excellent organizational and time management abilities
proficient in using planning software and tools
knowledge of forecasting techniques and demand planning processes
effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers
