- producing the documentation to ensure correct safe working and effective installations are achievable
- collecting scanning measurement data with a portable laser scanner for CAD comparison and reverse engineering
- operation and maintenance of low-power RF equipment including drive amplifiers and associated systems
- assist in the drawing up of manufacturing and test specifications
- working with the beamline scientists and engineers in designing and installing new beamline equipment as part of upgrades
- supervising junior internal or external staff / contractors
- advising on the purchasing and procurement of equipment
- supervising and coordinating the installation and commissioning of specialist beamline equipment, with cross-groups resource planning
- many of these components must be manufactured and positioned to very tight tolerances
- undertaking vacuum inspection and acceptance testing of vacuum components
- setting out geometric reference datum points for accelerator and beam line installation
- ensuring state of the art performance and reliability is maintained through future development
- complying with, and contributing to the development of, Health and Safety procedures and policies
- utilising the quality control and quality procedures of the Diamond project
- undertaking testing and fault finding
- taking part in operational planning, liaising with, and coordinating tasks with members of other specialist technical and engineering support groups
- assisting and advising on the correct procedures and techniques for UHV installations and testing

- undertake the design, construction, and documentation of electrical/electronic circuits
- contributing to risk and method statements
- you may also be called upon during experiments to fault find and effect repairs or modifications
- carrying out and assisting with the preparation of safety risk assessments and method statements
- we now have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Survey Technician to join our Survey and Alignment Team to help with component inspection and final alignment
- following and completing work procedures and producing inspection reports
- day-to-day management and inventory control of the RF laboratory and equipment within
- this includes 25 days annual leave plus 13 days of statutory and company holidays and 2 annual volunteering days, along with flexible working hours and an excellent pension scheme

- facilitating the installation and commissioning support for specialist detector equipment and readout electronics, including working on all electronic aspects of the scientific instrumentation from boards to racks and cooling equipment, and installation of sensors for items such as water flow and temperature monitoring
