warehouse operative

Responsibility

  • supply of pallets to production
  • load all finished goods onto shrink-wrapper
  • cover role – Unload, where required, incoming vehicles and rack away the materials following GRN procedures
  • cover role – Load, where required, outgoing vehicles with finished goods ready for dispatch
  • cover role – Generate trailer transfer notes and pre advices for consolidator warehouse
  • maintain and replace wrap on the auto pallet wrap machine and report any faults to engineering
  • to ensure the supply of all materials from the warehouse to the manufacturing areas to achieve the daily production plan. All transactions completed with RF scanner
  • visual checks of racking and report any defects

Requirements

  • good level of general education is required
  • previous experience of working in a warehouse is essential
  • counterbalance, Reach and Electric Handtruck Licenses are essential
  • ability to be able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • good team player
  • decisions put forward to line manager
  • effective decision making to be able to operate independently
  • management and use and basic management of equipment

Responsibility

  • ensure that the plant can complete weekly production
  • maintain a constant supply of raw materials/ingredients and packaging to the production line
  • responsibility for ordering the correct volumes of raw materials and packaging from the Warehouse to meet the daily production plan
  • completion of documentation relating to production output levels, quality of finished product and material usage figures
  • indirect responsibility for the induction of new and temporary operators allocated to the production team
  • responsibility for production line adjustments, changeovers, strip downs and re-assembly when changing over product
  • full responsibility for completion of all relevant safety checks prior to the commencement of the daily production plan
  • make adjustments to the plant production line machinery and equipment to ensure that maximum production levels are achieved in the most efficient way possible

Requirements

  • A sound working knowledge of the food industry with experience of GMP
  • A fork lift truck licence is an advantage for the lifting and positioning of raw materials and packaging and the removal of waste finished product
