  • prepare and cook dishes for customers, events, and retail sales
  • conduct food demonstrations throughout the year
  • order supplies and ingredients
  • supervise kitchen team and all aspects of cooking, café orders, events, and farm shop meals
  • train new kitchen members
  • work closely with Hub Manager and Baker to price all food items and create new menu options
  • compile and carry out all hygiene & health and safety regulations
  • ensure the kitchen is kept up to a high standard of cleanliness

Responsibility

  • responsible to Crossroads Community Hub Trustees
  • regular reporting to the Board on strategic, financial and general Hub matters
  • successfully complying with food standards regulations
  • collaborating with the team to ensure that products and services are marketed appropriately
  • proactively ensuring that challenges are addressed and resolved
  • monitoring to ensure that the correct health & safety/security procedures are in place
  • leading a diverse staff team responsible for high standards of food preparation, customer service, retail, administration as well as our highly valued volunteers
