  • maintaining ownership of your allocation of Claims, setting up and handling each case from First Notification of Loss though to Settlement
  • ensure Claims are settled within specific handling times and Clients are kept updated with the progress of their Claim
  • production on the monthly claims bordereaux to all stakeholders within the required timescales
  • managing and promptly resolving all external and internal queries
  • building, developing, and maintaining close working relationships with Clients ensuring a consistently high standard of service is provided
  • adhering to your personal authority limits and referring for authorisation above those where necessary
  • build relationships with both London and Local claims brokers
  • support the CFO through delivery of the annual claims business plan

  • solid Motor Fleet knowledge in executing risk selection and pricing strategies
  • ability and experience in pricing methodologies and being able to price complex risks
  • detailed knowledge of the legal, regulatory and compliance provisions that apply to Motor Fleet Insurance

Responsibility

  • contribute to the execution of the underwriting strategy for the Motor Fleet class of business
  • delivering on financial plans
  • technical development of Underwriting Assistants & Technicians and act as a referral point for risks which exceed subordinate underwriters authority
  • maintain relationships with the major brokers and other distribution partners
  • have significant awareness of and ensuring adherence of self and team members to all regulatory requirements, guidelines and working practices - both internally and externally
  • as an Underwriter you will be focusing on writing new and renewal business for insurance property products. Within the role you will have to deal with enquiries on a daily basis, and maintain and establish new relationships with brokers and clients
  • contribute to the management of portfolio performance through the effective underwriting of all risks
