  • coastal Recycling are recruiting a Transport Planner/Router to work from one of our sites in Exeter
  • the Transport Planner/Router plays a key role in the time and cost optimization of our logistics operation
  • key responsibilities include
  • liaising with fleet workshops to ensure effective vehicle resources are available and ensuring safe vehicle operations
  • assist with vehicle availability on a daily basis ensuring that drivers have completed their checks in accordance with company policy
  • the primary objective of the role will be to ensure route efficiency to ensure effective use of vehicles, facilities and drivers to ensure maximum productivity
  • contribute toward ongoing cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency and reduce operating cost
  • in this role you will work within the Transport team routing for a fleet of over 40 plus vehicles across the South West. You will work in a fast paced environment where the ability to adapt to change to enable order requirements is essential

  • ensure the operation is running as efficiently and productively as possible and identify opportunities for improvement across the site
  • to assist in managing operations and to understand the material processes and resourcing required with support from the Site Manager & the MRF Manager/Consultant
  • c) Personal development plans are agreed and implemented
  • responsible for producing quality fibres and polymers as directed and responsible for quality control of outbound loads -ready for re-processing with MRF operations
  • with assistance, ensuring compliance of all operations in accordance with all permits, licences, insurance terms and conditions, Health & Safety regulations and other regulations applicable to such operations and to have shared responsibility for such compliance
  • a) SMART objectives are in place for all Supervisory Staff and these are regularly reviewed and revised as appropriate, and at least on a six-monthly basis
  • be responsible for machinery and plant servicing and maintenance
  • b) Supervisors are rated following the annual appraisal of performance and given appropriate constructive feedback, initiating capability procedures when there is unsatisfactory performance
