- surveying: 10 years
- sub-contractor: 5 years
- reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts
- prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other documentation
- collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for accurate estimating
- conduct thorough market research to determine material and labour costs, ensuring competitive pricing
- monitor project budgets and implement cost control measures to maintain financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle
- review and evaluate subcontractor bids, ensuring compliance with project specifications
- maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, adjustments, and changes throughout the project duration
- building relationships and communicating effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams regarding estimates and project requirements
- participate in pre-construction handover meetings and post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement in estimating processes
- proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred
- strong understanding of cost control principles and practices
- excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly
- ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is advantageous but not essential
