Responsibility

  • prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other documentation
  • collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for accurate estimating
  • conduct thorough market research to determine material and labour costs, ensuring competitive pricing
  • monitor project budgets and implement cost control measures to maintain financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle
  • review and evaluate subcontractor bids, ensuring compliance with project specifications
  • maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, adjustments, and changes throughout the project duration
  • building relationships and communicating effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams regarding estimates and project requirements
  • participate in pre-construction handover meetings and post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement in estimating processes

Requirements

  • proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred
  • strong understanding of cost control principles and practices
  • excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is advantageous but not essential
