Responsibility

  • creation of drawings, reports, and design documentation
  • design and build prototypes of components, including any validation / testing methodologies
  • direct communication with suppliers and contractors
  • assist with flight testing, aircraft assembly, and product demonstrations
  • undertake a broad spectrum and R&D tasks, such as design, computational analysis, manufacture, and testing, to create innovative solutions to engineering problems

Requirements

  • genuine interest in engineering / design / aviation / unmanned vehicles
  • experience of mechanical, automotive, aerospace or product design
  • strong CAD skills, experience with SolidWorks preferable
  • knowledge of FEA and the ability to create models and make recommendations from the results
  • demonstrable technical drawing skills with the ability to use geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • experience in hands-on work
  • A degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent
  • relevant: 1 year

  • assisting with flight test operations at off-site locations

Requirements

  • an understanding of CAD and a willingness to develop those skills to a high standard
  • genuine deep interest in aviation and engineering / design / unmanned vehicles
  • must be a British Citizen or must have an existing right to work in the UK
  • ability to live near and work in Frome, Somerset, UK
  • an expected or achieved 2:1 or above degree in either Mechanical, Aerospace or Design Engineering
  • frome: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
