- on occasion, there may be a requirement to perform these duties off-site but in close proximity to the building
- deliver excellent customer service at all times and maximise customer satisfaction
- work in all areas of the food and beverage operation including the restaurant, all concessions, arena bar and catering for events
- wait tables, advising customers on the menu, taking orders correctly and delivering food and drinks to tables
- respond quickly, clearly and professionally to in-bound customer enquiries via phone, email or in-person and, when necessary, escalate queries or complaints to Team Leaders or in accordance with MAC’s Feedback and Complaints procedure
- this will include working as a team towards pre-agreed Fundraising Targets
- develop a sound understanding of all products, menu items and differing offers between the restaurant itself and all concessions
- to attend training as scheduled and proactively keep up to date with MAC’s work as a charity, it’s fundraising activities, arts programme, accessible facilities, food and drink and venue hire offers and ticketing terms and conditions
- to ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved at all times to all customers of MAC and MAC user groups
- using your knowledge and understanding of the above, respond to queries confidently and accurately, understand our customer’s needs and make appropriate and useful recommendations
- produce drinks and snacks to approved company standards
- to administer the sale of tickets to MAC programme and events over the counter, via telephone, post, or email using MAC’s ticketing and customer relationship management system
- processing transactions for Retail Shop products through the EPOS system and processing any online orders received for delivery
- maintain all working and customer areas at all times; keeping them clean, tidy and well maintained at all times
- to adhere to MAC’s policies and procedures at all times
- to carry out instructions or tasks as reasonably requested by a line manager
- dealing effectively with any customer issues, problems, comments and complaints escalating them to the Sales and Events Team Leader or Duty Manager as appropriate
- to collect and enter full and accurate customer data when making sales through the ticketing system, up-sell tickets to other MAC events
- keep all service areas well stocked and presented correctly at all points throughout the day
- to proactively support MAC’s work as a charity by asking customers for donations as part of all ticket sale transactions, using donation messaging provided by the Fundraising Team
- oversee the issuing and return of access passes to MAC visitors, being mindful of building security and limiting access as necessary
- all staff are expected to further, promote, and ensure the implementation of, the equal opportunities and diversity policies of MAC
- taking bookings and managing the Canopy Restaurant booking system
- assisting in the induction and training of new Customer Service Assistants
- assist the Sales and Events and Customer Services teams in all secondary duties including ushering, assisting visitors etc in order to ensure smooth running of mac as a whole

- in the event of a building evacuation, assist the Duty Manager with evacuating Staff and Visitors and preventing re-entry
- be well presented and wear the correct uniform at all times
- operational support to other Areas of the organisations as and when required
- logging all items of lost property which are found or reported lost in line with procedure
