Responsibility
Responsible for ensuring all depot materials and services are available to facilitate operations and the maintenance activities for the project
Monitor and maintain the ERP system, providing quality and accurate information
Negotiate with suppliers to ensure service levels and repair float stocks are maintained for the project
the role of the Materials Manager will be focused on Overhaul and Additional Sales opportunities on the NIR fleets
Monitor supplier performance against lead times, quality, service and delivery and produce analytics to drive improvement
Continually review stock holding levels and set minimum order levels based on stock availability, supplier lead times and consumption rates
they will provide assistance to the other Procurement functions within the operation
Participate and coordinate stock taking and control activities with regular review of CAF & Client ERP systems for accuracy
Requirements
3rd Level qualification in a relevant Business or Engineering discipline
Proven previous experience in a Materials Management Role
CIPS qualified or working towards is desirable
Previous experience working in an Engineering or Rail environment is desirable
Understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systems and components is desirable

Responsibility
undertake the management of materials and services which are required to meet specific overhauls for each of the UK projects
work closely with the Overhaul Manager to ensure material is ordered and delivered in a timely manner
ensure all material orders are expedited and are delivered as and when required
look at all UK projects holistically to identify synergies and potential cost savings
report periodically to stakeholders on all progress and highlight any risks
this will include managing the procurement of parts and services in alignment with the BOM and schedule provided by the projects
maintain logs including BOM lists to ensure all relevant details are visible to all stakeholders
support the projects to identify potential savings with their repairs
