Requirements
- engineering apprenticeship and/or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
- engineering apprenticeship and/or HNC/HND
- experience with Siemens, Heidenhain professional and Fanuc control systems
- experience with SQPDE tier system management
- good analytical skills and detail orientated
- knowledge of rotating equipment advantageous
- writing programs for 3 Axis CNC lathes with live tooling
- six sigma green belt – desirable
Responsibility
- due to internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Production Team based at the Crewe site
- program a 3 Axis live tooling CNC lathes and 3-4 axis CNC milling machines
- follow financial budgets throughout the manufacturing process
- research and purchase new manufacturing technology, working in collaboration with the engineering department to provide better production equipment functionality
- liaise with production personnel to review, control and implement effective and efficient improvements to engineering specifications, fixtures, tooling and build operations
- adapt machines or equipment design to factory and production conditions
- research machinery to commission and de-commission plant equipment
- make versus buy analysis / costing to maximise commercial advantage
