• conducting onsite cabling surveys
• experience within a hands-on trade and tools
• installation of optical fibre cable, bundles and blown fibre tubing using fibre blowing equipment to required standards, including fault finding on existing network
• excellent customer service skills, as you will be visiting households and businesses
• splicing and testing of external optical fibres to the end customer premise in line with quality standards using OTDR /ILM/PMD/CD/EXFO FTB200 or similar
• be motivated and be able to work independently as well be a team player
• able to prepare, splice and troubleshoot fibre optical cable
• able to install, repair and maintain fibre optic splice closures and distribution panels
• able to work outside of normal working hours when required
• use and understand OTDR and Power Meter
• adherence with Health and Safety legislation, working safely using gate guard and signage as appropriate
• able to work in manholes and aerial plant; you are comfortable and willing to work at heights or in confined spaces when required
